Sky Fall 007 Lighting Analysis.

SkyFall 007 Lighting Analysis.

Here in this movie poster we see a man. In which we all know that this man is James Bond. In this poster we see that the lighting has a dark effect. This would mean that this would come under low-key lighting. The low-key lighting is a mixture of three point lighting affects that are used in movies to create a huge affect in the image. In this case only the key lights and that backlights are being used which are only two of the three point lighting. This would be called a chiaroscuro, which creates a mixture of darkness and shadows with in the image. By using the back lighting it creates a little silhouette in the image, this could potentially create an enigma for the audience that may look up on this image. This leaves them confused as to who might this man be and what purpose he as in this tunnel like scene. However, the backlighting has not created a full silhouette as we can still see a bit of what this character looks like.  By this it makes the character look even more mysterious than he already is as only half of his face has been lit up from above which is called the top lighting which is the key lighting. This could have been used to light up the characters face so that we can be more familiar with who we are looking at. It also could be used to maybe make the character more glamorous and attractive for the audience. This could potentially attract a female audience, as he is a handsome, smart looking young man. Furthermore, this does also apply to the male audience as well. However, they wont be attracted but they will idolise the actor and maybe might find themselves maybe looking up to the actor maybe wanting to be like this dashing young man.
